If we get to ‘net zero’ while crippling our economy, we are likely to end up facing the results of climate change caused by other nations while lacking the financial ability to adapt to our changing situation.

Conservatism is about protecting all of society's assets for future generations and nothing is more important in this regard than the environment, our green and pleasant land.

This will require a holistic approach in which the Government doesn't just focus on resolving the issue of emission or biodiversity, but how it all fits into the larger picture.

If we get to 'net zero' while crippling our economy, we are likely to end up facing the results of climate change caused by other nations while lacking the financial ability to adapt to our changing situation.

It is vital that we follow our conservative instincts and embrace the free market's ability to foster innovation that will help us build a better, cleaner economy. From electric cars to solar panels and new, greener ways of producing food, by taking on these innovations, while controlling excesses, we can create a British model that other nations will follow.
