A sketch of the week

A brief look at the week gone by through cartoons by Crid.

Warm(er) weather, coupled with a slight relaxation in lockdown rules, drew Brits to the beach this week. The Government confirmed on Monday that people are now allowed to leave their local areas to go to the seaside (as if we should need permission for such a thing…!).

But, of course, the Government couldn’t leave it at that. ‘Let’s enjoy the sun but let’s do it safely,’ said Matt Hancock on Twitter. ‘We have come so far, don’t blow it now.’

So long as there are no last-minute changes to the Government’s ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown (the goalposts do have a habit of moving), barber shops will be able to reopen on April 12th. Let’s see if you can guess from the following what Crid does as his day job!

It’s beyond doubt that we will be required to continue wearing masks in barber shops when they do reopen – as well as in pubs, shops, cinemas, etc.. But for how long will this requirement last? Perhaps for up to 10 years, according to Lord Jonathan Sumption. So much for ‘emergency measures’.
